What pilot training program does HM Aerospace offer?

HM Aerospace offers the Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating (Frozen ATPL), designed for students who want to become commercial airline pilots.

Does HM Aerospace offer PPL?

Yes. HM Aerospace offers Private Pilot License (PPL) training. PPL intake availability may vary, so please check directly with the admissions team.

Does HM Aerospace offer a Diploma pathway?

Yes. Students may pursue the Diploma in Aviation together with the Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating (Frozen ATPL) pathway.

How long does the Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating (Frozen ATPL) program take?

The program usually takes around 18 to 24 months. The actual duration may vary depending on student progress, weather conditions, flight availability and operational factors.

Does the program include simulator training?

Yes. Simulator training is included as part of the pilot training journey to help students prepare for real flight scenarios in a controlled training environment.

Will I train on both single-engine and twin-engine aircraft?

Yes. Students will progress through single-engine and twin-engine training phases as part of the Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating (Frozen ATPL) training structure.

Entry Requirements

What are the minimum academic requirements?

Applicants need SPM or IGCSE with at least 5 credits. The credits should include English, Mathematics, Science and 2 other subjects.

Can I apply with Diploma or Degree results?

HM Aerospace requires SPM or IGCSE results for application checking. Diploma or Degree results do not replace the SPM or IGCSE requirement.

What is the minimum age to apply?

Applicants should be at least 17 years old to apply for the pilot training program.

Can I apply while waiting for SPM results?

Students must meet the SPM or IGCSE requirement before enrolling. Trial results may be reviewed early for general guidance.

Can I wear spectacles and still apply?

Wearing spectacles does not automatically prevent you from applying. Eligibility depends on passing the required Class 1 Medical assessment.

Is there an entrance exam or interview?

No entrance exam is required. Application review is mainly based on eligibility, document checking and medical fitness requirements.

Do I need a Class 1 Medical Certificate?

Yes. A Class 1 Medical Certificate is required before progressing into flight training. It confirms that the candidate is medically fit for pilot training.

Can I apply before completing my medical check-up?

Yes. You may begin the early enquiry and document checking process first. However, the Class 1 Medical Certificate is still required before moving further.

Flight training is conducted at HM Aerospace’s flight training base in Langkawi.

Graduation & Career Support

What happens after completing the program?

After completing the Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating (Frozen ATPL) and meeting licensing requirements, graduates may apply for commercial pilot roles. HM Aerospace provides post-course guidance where applicable.

Does HM Aerospace guarantee airline placement?

Job placement is not guaranteed. Career progress depends on licensing completion, airline hiring needs, student performance and interview results.

Does HM Aerospace provide career support?

Yes. HM Aerospace may provide guidance on licensing endorsement, career preparation and recommendation support where applicable.

What happens if I fail an exam or flight test?

Students may receive additional support and the opportunity to retake failed assessments, depending on the training stage and applicable requirements.

Can I transfer from another aviation school?
