  1. Why should I consider your flying school?

    HMA has the most advanced training aircrafts and simulator available in the school, plus the advantage of earlier exposure to glass-cockpit concept of flying.


  2. How do I enroll?

    Enrolment can be made through submitting the application form to HMA Admission Department.


  3. Where is your flying school located?

    HMA is located in the legendary island of Langkawi, adjacent to Langkawi International Airport.


  4. Is the flying school recognised by the local aviation authority?

    Yes, the flying school is authorised to conduct flying courses by the Department of Civil Aviation, Malaysia.


  5. What are the academic qualifications do I need to join the course?

    Malaysian Student - SPM with a minimum of five (5) credits. Compulsory credit is required English, Mathematics and a Science subject, while remaining 2 credits can be in any other subjects
    Foreign Student - GCE “O” level or equivalent with passes in English, Mathematics and a Science subject, while remaining 2 credits can be in any other subjects.


  6. Is my Malaysian CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL Licence recognised by other countries?

    Countries of ICAO signatories will accept the Malaysian licence. However, you are advised to check with Aviation Authorities of that specific country if you wish to convert Malaysian licence to theirs.


  7. What is the licence requirement to join other airlines and where can I get the information?

    You need a minimum of a Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating. However, in some cases a minimum of an Airline Transport Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating does apply. You can get more information on the licence requirements from the respective airlines.


  8. What types of training aircrafts are used in your flying school?

    HMA operates two type of single engine aircraft consists of Socata TB 10 Tobago GT, Diamond DA40 TDI and twin engine Austria Diamond 42. We also have the state of art simulator known as ALSIM AL200-DA42 Flight Navigator Procedures Trainer (FNPT II).


  9. What is the duration of the CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL course?

    The duration of the CPL/IR course is eighteen (18) months.


  10. Do you conduct part time courses?

    All HMA courses are on full time basis. However, please contact us on availability for part-time courses.


  11. What is the minimum and maximum age to undergo the CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL?

    The minimum age is 17 and there is no maximum age limit for doing the course. However, the licence is valid up to the age of 60.

  12. Where can I do my medical for a Malaysian Licence?

    Only medical examiners who are designated and authorized by the Department Civil Aviation, Malaysia can conduct the aircrew medical. The DCA designated examiners as to date are:-

  13. What are the theory subjects covered for the CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL course?

  14. I wear glasses, will this be okay?

    The applicant must seek advised from the Designated Medical Examiners to ensure they are eligible to enroll in flying courses.


  15. Am I guaranteed a job upon completion of the CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL course from the flying school?

    HMA does not guarantee a job upon completion. However, HMA is more than happy to assist the students for job placements in both local and foreign airlines. The candidates are also encouraged to browse through aviation website for pilots’ vacancies in the local and foreign airlines / general aviations.

  16. Do you offer any scholarships or financial assistance?

    HMA does not provide any scholarship or financial assistance to candidates. However, candidates may apply to airlines, government agencies or banks that offer such assistance meanwhile HMA can assist in certifying that the training received is done at our flying school.

    HMA does provide scholarships from time to time and also assists in getting loans from local financial institutions depending on the needs of the school.

  17. If I have a PPL, can I enroll in CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL course here?

    Yes, but you need to start the course from the beginning regardless whether you have a PPL or don’t. This is because our CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL course is a combination of PPL, CPL/IR and ATPL.
